Doctrinal Doxology (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit doctrinaldoxology.com, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.
Who we are

What personal data we collect
Ask a Question form. If you submit a question through the site, we collect your name, email address, the subject and content of your message, and — optionally — your church. This is sent directly to our inbox by email so we can reply to you; it is not stored in a database on the site.
Newsletter sign-up. If you subscribe using the newsletter form in the footer, we collect your email address and pass it to Mailchimp, the email service we use to send our newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.
Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site — for example, which pages are read and roughly how many people visit. This works using cookies and collects information such as your approximate location, device and browser type, and the pages you visit. We do not use this data to identify you personally.
Fonts. The typefaces used on this site are loaded from Google Fonts. Loading a font from Google’s servers means your device makes a request to Google, which can see your IP address as part of that request.
Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records standard technical information for every visit — such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages requested — for security and troubleshooting purposes.
We do not use payment processing, and there is no user account or membership system on this site — you cannot register or log in as a visitor.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser to distinguish you from other visitors. Aside from this, the site remembers a couple of small preferences directly on your own device (not as cookies, and never sent to us) — your choice of light or dark theme, and which weekly Bible readings you’ve marked as finished. These stay on your device and are cleared automatically or whenever you clear your browser’s site data.
How we use your data
We use the information above only to: respond to questions submitted through the Ask a Question form; send our newsletter to people who have asked to receive it; understand how the site is used, so we can improve it; and keep the site secure.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for advertising.
Who we share your data with
We share data with a small number of service providers who process it on our behalf: Mailchimp (newsletter emails) and Google (Analytics and Fonts). These providers are based in the United States, so your data may be transferred and processed outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area. Both providers are large, well-established services with their own privacy policies and safeguards, which you can read directly: Mailchimp’s privacy policy and Google’s privacy policy.
How long we keep your data
Questions submitted through the Ask a Question form exist only as an email in our inbox, kept for as long as is reasonably needed to respond and for our own records. Your newsletter subscription is kept by Mailchimp for as long as you remain subscribed, and removed when you unsubscribe. Analytics data is retained according to Google’s own default retention settings.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to ask us what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected if it’s wrong, to have it deleted, and to object to how it’s used. To exercise any of these rights, get in touch via the Ask a Question page. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email. If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Children’s privacy
This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time — for example, if we start using a new service that processes personal data. Any changes will be posted on this page.
